I provide strategic and unbiased thinking about marketing challenges that combines 30 years of corporate, agency and freelance experience with an objective perspective. For over 25 years, I have written marketing materials and online content that drives business results as an independent freelance consultant. I’m a hands-on marketing professional and writer who enjoys both program design and implementation, and I want to talk with you about how I can help your business. I launched Carroll Content & Consulting in 1992 and have successfully provided focused, high-value marketing consulting and writing services to hundreds of companies throughout North America, Europe, the Mideast, Africa, and Asia.
From 1986 through 1992 I held public relations and marketing communications management positions for Motorola Codex, a $500 million networking company. I left as Director of Marketing Communications responsible for promotional activities, product launches and corporate communications. I also supported corporate investor relations programs and federal lobbying programs for the Independent Data Communications Manufacturing Association (IDCMA) industry trade group.
During 1985 through 1986 I was a Public Relations Account Supervisor with Hill and Knowlton’s Advanced Technology Division, where I developed and implemented public relations programs for leading software companies, including Lotus Development Corporation, Sage Software and Computervision.
In 1985 I was an advertising account manager for Giardini/Russell focusing on software, healthcare and financial services clients, and in 1983 and 1984 I held media relations, magazine editor and advertising positions with McCormack & Dodge, a leading financial software company and a subsidiary of Dun & Bradstreet.
In 1983, I received an M.S. in Public Relations and Advertising summa cum laude from Boston University, and I’m a former Adjunct Professor of Journalism for Northeastern University.
I’m a member of the Cape Cod Technology Council, a regional professional business organization that facilitates technology entrepreneurship, promotes technology education for business, encourages technology curriculum at the secondary and higher education levels and advocates digital inclusion for citizens.
